When building structures, concrete form ties help you ensure they’re the proper dimensions. Without using them, it would be much more difficult to design concrete buildings. What Are Concrete Form Ties
Securing a concrete structure takes a ton of force to prevent them from moving. By using ties, it’s possible to hold them in place without expensive equipment. Depending on the type, you may need to remove them after the concrete sets. The right one also depends on what you’re building.
One Piece Ties
Most ties don’t have multiple parts, meaning they’re continuous-single members. A flattie would be the most common one belonging to this group. When connecting two blocks, you’ll screw them together using the tie. Once everything finishes setting, you can remove them from the structure. Loop ties also belong to the group. However, they’re designed to include spots where you can attach hooks and pins.
Disconnecting Members
The she-bolt has one threaded end and another bare one. If you place the bare end in a wall, you can secure something by screwing it to the other side. Once the concrete has hardened, you can remove the she-bolt and use it somewhere else. Only the inner rod remains inside once you’ve finished working with it. A coil tie works similarly, but it pulls two things together. Use them to pull walls toward each other whenever building something.
